We are excited to announced that Zach Johnson, one of our employees who has done our bookkeeping for the past four years, has recently joined the Global Advocate Program through the non-profit organization, Mama Hope. Zach will be traveling to Moshi, Tanzania in the Fall to partner with a community run organization called White Orange Youth (“WOY”). Zach will be mainly focused on developing a financial tracking system and business model for the organization’s farm, which is meant to generate income and cover the day-to-day operating costs of White Orange Youth.
At the core of Circle & Bloom is a strong commitment to helping people in need. We realize just how important educating our youth is and believe that every child born should have the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment. For these reasons, we have decided to donate 10% of every purchase for the next three months to Zach’s fundraising initiatives which go directly towards the expansion of this income generating farm for WOY.
All too often non-profits forget to engage the communities that they are trying to serve and can therefore end up providing the community with things they don’t really need nor want despite their good intentions. Because of this, Mama Hope believes that if change is to have a real, long lasting, and sustainable impact, the community itself must be the catalyst for that change. To accomplish this, they partner with many different community driven organizations all around the world in order to help them grow and sustain themselves in a financially sustainable manner. In this way, Mama Hope can ensure they are helping a community reach the goals that are most important to them.
White Orange Youth is one such partner organization. Their mission aims to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS and increase the quality of life of young people and other at-risk groups in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania. The organization uses peer-to-peer education to spread the use of positive practices and to dispel common myths so that future generations are well informed about the disease and can therefore thrive and achieve their life goals, while supporting those around them to do the same. 100% of the money raised by Zach will be invested into WOY and will allow them to continue to positively impact the hundreds of youth that they work with every day.
We sincerely thank you for your support and look forward to keeping you updated on Zach’s progress.
